Prosecution Rests in 1st Serial Murder Trial

IN BRIEF / LOUISIANA

August 10, 2004|From Times Wire Reports

The prosecution rested its case in the first of several trials planned for Derrick Todd Lee, 35, who Port Allen police said was linked by DNA evidence to the deaths of seven women.

Prosecutors focused on a boot they said was the same type and size as one that left a bloody shoeprint at the scene of a woman's killing. Lee's son, Derrick Jr., 15, identified the boot as belonging to his father.
