Coach Tom Hernandez of San Fernando will have to miss his team's season opener next month because his school failed to send a representative to a mandatory City Section coaches' meeting on Saturday.

Under City rules, the head coach is suspended for one game as punishment.

Hernandez said he mistakenly thought the meeting was next weekend.

San Fernando was the only school not represented at the meeting.
