Building Concentration

Re "New Police Headquarters Site Draws Ire," Aug. 24: It's too bad that Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry can't see beyond her career aspirations.

A park would enhance downtown Los Angeles and give the people who live and work there a chance to breathe. Adding another building to the neighborhood just creates more isolation. The world in which we live is becoming very small. Let's think of making the environment more livable.

Open space is more important to our survival.
