The final nail in the coffin for the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" franchise on TV was hammered in when the WB announced this would be the final season of "Angel," a 1999 spinoff of cult favorite "Buffy."
Internet rumors about the show forced the network to announce its decision before working out future "Angel" or "Buffy" projects with series creator Joss Whedon, WB co-chief Jordan Levin said in a statement.
