A Los Angeles police officer was charged Wednesday with stealing at least $4,200 in seized drug money while part of a team investigating narcotics trafficking at Los Angeles International Airport, prosecutors said.
Rogelio Ramirez, 49, allegedly was captured on videotape taking money during two undercover sting operations.
The officer faces two counts of grand theft, according to Deputy Dist. Atty. Valerie Aenlle-Rocha.
Ramirez, a 23-year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department, is scheduled to be arraigned today.
