Violent 'Passion'

March 06, 2004

All you devout Christians embracing "The Passion of the Christ" have now lost any credibility in your stance against violence in the entertainment industry. And don't give me the excuse that this "really happened."

Would you line up to see that detailed and deeply violent a depiction of a rape? Of a prisoner of war being tortured? Of a drug user dying of an overdose? These are all real events, too. Would you rush to watch?

So let's not hear you whining about violence in the entertainment industry again. You've just helped to promote it. You tossed your dollars at it for the impact of seeing an innocent man lashed to pieces and nailed to a cross.

Mel Gibson made a movie. And who's getting glorified? And richer?
