LETTERS

A slippery slope

March 13, 2004

Paul BROWNFIELD'S story about the reality series "Last Comic Standing" made me think of "Quiz Show" as well as the ongoing legal matters concerning what an "agent" and a "manager" are and can do (" 'Last Comic Standing' Judges Aren't Laughing," March 8). This appears to me the tip of a very slippery slope of conflict of interest and deception on the public airwaves.

For shame, NBC. "Last Comic" is not only not a "real" contest; it appears to be a rigged promotional scheme that rewards connections and mocks talent.
