Something Smells With These Flagrants

March 13, 2004

They changed the rules of basketball from man to zone because of Shaquille O'Neal, and now they want to change the laws of physics.

Other people can jump and dunk, but Shaq has to leap, levitate and flutter harmlessly to the floor like a leaf, lest he offend some referee on a power trip.

If Shaq's crying about the refs again, he must be tired again. Maybe the NBA can change the game for him and Shaq won't have to dribble anymore. From now on, he can just lower his shoulder and bowl over anyone in the paint on the way to a dunk. (Oh yeah, I forgot, he already does that.)

So, let me get this straight: Multiple opposing players can slap, hit, hang, grab, bash, hack, ride and even tackle Shaq and receive nothing more than a personal foul. However, Shaq's forearm unintentionally grazes a player's head and he's ejected from a game.

Who says the refs are prejudiced?
