A Los Angeles Superior Court judge granted Corey Nakatani a stay of his 30-day suspension Monday, which means the jockey will be able to continue riding at Santa Anita pending his appeal to the California Horse Racing Board.
Nakatani's suspension, issued by the Santa Anita stewards and scheduled to have begun Thursday, will be on hold until he can argue his case before an administrative law judge. Nakatani's attorney, Donald Calabria, said the parties were due back in court July 2, unless the hearing before an administrative law judge is scheduled before then.
