A multinational force in revolt-torn Haiti suffered its first fatality when a French soldier was accidentally shot by a colleague who was cleaning his gun, the U.S. military said.
Lance Cpl. Johnny Tupana, 27, of French Polynesia, died Saturday after being evacuated from the city of Gonaives, said Marine Lt. Col. Bryan Salas.
