* Brad Sweezy, Huntington Beach Ocean View: Had 10 kills and 10 blocks, and Cody Dubarry added 10 kills for the visiting Seahawks in a 25-23, 25-20, 25-21 Division III second-round upset of No. 3-seeded Anaheim Western in the Southern Section playoffs.

* John Thomas and Tyler Bayer, Santa Ana Mater Dei: Thomas had 14 kills and five blocks, and Bayer had 49 assists and seven digs for the Monarchs in a 21-25, 25-16, 27-25, 26-24 Division I second-round victory at Simi Valley in the Southern Section playoffs.


* Steve Sanchez, Newhall Hart: Pitched 7 2/3 scoreless innings and drove in the winning run on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning for the host Indians in a 2-1 Division II wild-card victory over Palmdale.

* Jason Dominguez, Chatsworth: Threw a two-hitter, striking out six, and had a double, a home run and two RBIs for the undefeated No. 1-ranked Chancellors in a 10-0 five-inning West Valley League victory over Woodland Hills Taft.


* Andre Feliz, San Gabriel: Swept, 6-1, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 1 singles for the visiting Matadors in a 10-8 Division IV first-round upset of fourth-seeded Lompoc.
