Man on Scooter Dies of Injuries From Accident

A man was struck and killed Wednesday when his scooter collided with a car, police said.

Aaron Jacob Dekoyer, 32, was pronounced dead at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana.

Dekoyer was driving west on South Coast Drive about 2:30 a.m. when he was struck by a pickup driving south on Harbor Boulevard, police said. The pickup's driver, Juan Castro, 46, of Santa Ana, was not injured.

An investigation is continuing to determine who was at fault, police said.
