Labor Day is set aside to recognize the contribution of working people to the nation. Monday's holiday also marks the traditional end of summer. The following services will be affected:
Mail: All post offices will be closed. Mail will not be delivered.
Government: All government offices will be closed.
Businesses: All stock and commodity exchanges and banks will be closed. Many private businesses also will be closed.
Libraries: All will be closed.
Trash: There will be no trash collection. Pickups will be delayed one day throughout the week.
Transportation: SCAT, VISTA and city buses will not run. Metrolink trains will not run.
