Mission Viejo-Poly Tickets Are on Sale

Tickets for Friday's football game between the Southland's highest-ranked teams will be on sale at Mission Viejo High from 3:30-5:30 p.m. today.

The Diablos (3-0), ranked No. 1 in the Southland by The Times, will play No. 2 Long Beach Poly (3-0) at 7 p.m. at Long Beach Cabrillo High. Tickets have been on sale each day from 8-11 a.m. and from 1-4 p.m. at Poly. The game will be televised live on FSN West.

Rodney Picou, a 6-foot-5, 315-pound offensive lineman from Moreno Valley Canyon Springs, has been selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 15.

Girls' Basketball

Erika Arriaran, a Times' All-Star from Norco, has committed to Texas. Arriaran, a 5-foot-10 guard who averaged 17.1 points, led the Cougars (27-5) to their first section title game last season.

Miscellany

A memorial service for Eric McMillan, a former Murrieta Valley football player, will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in the high school's gymnasium.

McMillan, a redshirt freshman cornerback who was a starter for Idaho, died Sept. 20 after being shot at his off-campus apartment.
