The actress had been in Minnesota for the shooting of Robert Altman's new film, "A Prairie Home Companion," and didn't think she could break free. She did, unexpectedly, but when a canceled flight early Sunday delayed her arrival, Virginia almost missed her brother, who had to leave the party at 11 for a film shoot. She arrived in time for a tearful reunion 10 minutes before he left.

"It's hard for a man like Michael, who's very much a man's man, to reveal that he writes poetry," she said later. "So I was really happy that he did this tonight and even if it was at the end, I'm really happy that I could be a part of it."

Beating

Why do some men ask for a beating?

You can see it in their faces,

You know ... they need it.

I beat a guy

With a tire iron once

who pulled a knife on me

and

it

felt

so

good

to break-the-bones

in-his-face and see him bleed.

I probably would've killed him...

If I hadn't stopped --

I guess ... we will both

remember each other.
