Man Charged in Teen’s Cocaine Death
A businessman who allegedly spent time with a teenage escort in the hours before she died has been charged with giving her the cocaine that killed her.
David Francis Downey, 52, was arrested late last week in Anne Arundel County, Md., and charged with drug delivery resulting in death and other charges. The drug delivery charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 to 40 years in prison.
Ashley Burg, 17, of Willingboro, N.J., died of cocaine poisoning late July 31 or early Aug. 1, after visiting Downey’s home, authorities said. Her body was found near Interstate 95.
