Pleasure of their company
For the cast of “Sideways,” hearing the announcement that they’ve won the Screen Actors Guild Award for best ensemble in a motion picture is just the beginning of a long, ritual-saturated evening. Suddenly there are statuettes to claim – the 16-inch bronze figure of the Actor, set on a granite base. Press and charity obligations to attend to while moving from room to room at the Shrine Auditorium. The 12-pound actor gets heavy. The green patina rubs off on your hands. And the smiles? Those seem to last all night.
