EA Lays Off 60 at Los Angeles Studio

Video game publisher Electronic Arts Inc. laid off 60 game developers from its studio in Los Angeles as part of a restructuring, a spokeswoman said.

EA, the world's largest video game publisher and maker of "The Sims," said the cuts affected developers across a number of projects. With the cuts, EA's development staff at the L.A. studio was reduced to 320.

EA shares rose 14 cents to $62.98 on Nasdaq.
