Police Clash With Suspected Militants
Several people were killed in a shootout with suspected militants today, Kuwaiti police said, the second straight day of such clashes.
Police stormed a house in Al Qurain, south of Kuwait City, said a police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity. He said several people died.
Today's raid came a day after security forces battled suspected militants in another area. One suspected militant, a police officer and a Bahraini bystander were killed in that shootout.
Kuwait has been battling Islamic fundamentalists who oppose the presence of U.S. forces in their country.
