Flea raises a Hullaballoo

Funkmaster Flea put his talents to good use at the Edendale Grill in Silver Lake on Wednesday at the first Hullabaloo Festival. The event, which raised more than $50,000 for the Silver Lake Conservatory of Music, also included performances by Grant Lee Phillips, Charlie Haden with Alan Broadbent, John Frusciante and Tracy Chapman. Cool cat Neil Young and Coldplay were among the artists who donated wares for a silent auction. The conservatory (which Flea founded) offers music lessons and instruments to kids, many of whom couldn't otherwise afford them.... The Viper Room in WeHo was flooded with celebutantes on Thursday, as Samantha Ronson rocked the house. Among her fans: Jake Gyllenhaal, Kirsten Dunst, Danny Masterson and Bijou Phillips, as well as members of Hoobastank and Maroon 5.... A little birdie tells me DJ AM and club owner Loyal Pennings are taking over the Renaissance Hotel's lobby bar, with plans to redesign the spot. We hear the hotel's also giving them four rooms, so when it's last call, scenesters can grab a bottle and a room key to continue to party.... Kiefer Sutherland and Traci Lords were among the celebs looking for good karma at Good Luck, a favorite Eastside watering hole.

Among the jazz lovers nesting at Bel-Air's Vibrato Grill are Virginia Madsen, James Caan, Sylvester Stallone and Burt Reynolds.... Tonight the Dream 3 fundraiser hits Zen Sushi in Silver Lake, coinciding with the Day of the African Child. The fundraiser for Next Aid (www.nextaid.org) offers an array of music, including hip-hop, Afrobeat, R&B, soul and Brazilian fare.... On Wednesday, the Key Club is celebrating rock 'n' roll, Hollywood style, as long-haired cretins hit the Strip for the release of "Hollywood Rocks!," an 80-track collection of raucous rawk. Gnarly, dude.
