A Superior Court judge has thrown out a school district's decision to revoke the charter of the Albor Charter School, an institution in the city's Latino community.

The Santa Ana Unified School District voted in April to strip the school of its charter after trustees heard allegations of rampant financial mismanagement.

Albor and its founder later sued the district, arguing that it had failed to follow required dispute-resolution procedures.

On Thursday, Judge Clay M. Smith ordered the district to comply with those procedures.

He also ordered that a "fair and meaningful" hearing be held on the matter should the district and the school fail to reach an agreement.
