Hamas Plans to Enter Parliamentary Elections

The Islamic militant group Hamas has decided to run in Palestinian parliamentary elections on July 17.

Political leader Mohammed Ghazal said Hamas would decide after the vote whether to join the Cabinet of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, and whether to support moves to renew peace talks with Israel.

Hamas is the largest of the three main Palestinian militant Islamic groups and is responsible for most suicide attacks against Israelis.
