Cheney Says First Lady Would Beat Sen. Clinton
First Lady Laura Bush would defeat Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton if the two were to face each other in the 2008 presidential contest, Vice President Dick Cheney said.
Cheney made the prediction after his wife, Lynne Cheney, suggested the matchup in an interview on CNN’s “Larry King Live.”
“People are thinking of Mrs. Clinton running for president,” Mrs. Cheney said. “I think Mrs. Bush ought to run for president. If we want to have a Bush dynasty, let’s get Laura Bush.”
