GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
* Vanessa Murray, Van Nuys Grant: Had 41 kills, seven aces and 23 digs to lead the Lancers to a five-game victory over Huntington Park in the first round of the City Section playoffs.
* Jesse Yeager, Oak Park: Had 35 kills in a three-game victory over Ventura St. Bonaventure that gave the host Eagles a share of the Tri-Valley League title along with Thousand Oaks La Reina.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
* Stephanie Hammel, Placentia Valencia: Won her second consecutive Empire League singles title with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over teammate Candace Wu in the individual tournament final at Anaheim Tennis Center.
