Reality Show Writers Disrupt Executive Panel

November 16, 2005|From Associated Press

TV reality show writers disrupted a panel of network executives at a New York hotel, complaining that they were being exploited.

The writers dumped leaflets on the banquet hall tables, with one writer climbing on stage. The incident is part of an organizing campaign by the Writers Guild of America. Reality show writers say they are underpaid and lack sufficient benefits.

"Their voice needs to be heard," Fox Entertainment President Peter Liguori said. "We'll figure it out."
