* Palm Inc. unveiled two pocket digital assistants, one with the power to wirelessly surf the Internet, hoping to renew interest in the flagging market for digital devices that don't have phones.

* Google Inc. said it planned to locate a new engineering and support facility in the Phoenix area. Mountain View, Calif.-based Google said it would hire 600 engineers and others to work at the new facility.
