Council OKs Mayor's Airport Panel Choices

The City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's seven nominees to the Airport Commission.

The panel oversees the city's four airports, including Los Angeles International.

Nominees and council members agreed to support the mayor's call for spreading passenger growth among the region's airports.

The appointees are:

Joseph Aredas, Michael Lawson, Sylvia Patsaouras, Alan Rothenberg, Fernando Torres-Gil, Valeria Velasco and Walter Zifkin.
