THAT afternoon Mom and Dad put Sam in his stroller. They went to the Peek-a-Boo shop.
"Do you have a red rabbit sweater like this?" Mom asked the saleswoman, holding up the shrunken garment.
THAT afternoon Mom and Dad put Sam in his stroller. They went to the Peek-a-Boo shop.
"Do you have a red rabbit sweater like this?" Mom asked the saleswoman, holding up the shrunken garment.
"Oh, yes," the saleswoman said. She brought out a red sweater with little bunnies all over it.
"That won't do," Mom said. "Sorry."
They went to the Cuddle-Coo shop and the Teeny-Togs shop and the Hug-a-Bug shop. No red rabbit sweaters like the one Grandma sent.
Mom was worried. Dad wasn't.
"We'll go to San Francisco," he said. "No problem. We'll find the shop she bought it at."
Mom gasped. "I guess we \o7could\f7 find it. The name is on the label. But couldn't we just phone and have them send us one?"
"You're no fun," Dad said. "Sam and I want to go to San Francisco and get him another red rabbit sweater before Easter so Grandma can see it."
Dad winked at Sam. "Want to go to San Francisco, big guy?"
"Go, go, go," Sam shouted.
"Go" was one of his favorite words. Mom always said that when they were going to the park.
"Go, go, go," he shouted happily.
"All right then," Dad said.
"Shouldn't we call first though? And make sure they have a red rabbit sweater?" Mom asked.
"Nonsense," Dad said. "They probably have red sweaters with rabbits on the front all over San Francisco."
