Fire That Destroyed Church Is Ruled Arson

Authorities determined that a fire that destroyed Blackberry Lane Community Church was set intentionally, but they were unsure whether the blaze was a copycat crime linked to a string of church arsons earlier this year.

Police in Talladega, scene of the latest arson, said there were no suspects.

The Rev. Allen Holley said no one had made any threats toward his 38-member congregation. "I hate to think it was intentionally set," he said.
