Computer maker Gateway Inc. agreed to give shareholder Firebrand Partners a seat on the board and would add another director to head off a potential showdown at the company's annual meeting.
The Firebrand seat will go to Scott Galloway. A second director who is acceptable to both Gateway and the Firebrand-led group will be picked by Feb. 28.
