Jason Smith's first goal of the season ended a second-period tie and lifted the Edmonton Oilers to a 3-1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday night in a rematch of last season's Stanley Cup finals.
Brad Winchester and Fernando Pisani also scored for the host Oilers, who lost Game 7 of the finals in Raleigh, N.C.
