January 11, 2006|Don Shirley

Charles Dutton has canceled his August Wilson tribute, "Good Night Mr. Wilson," that was scheduled for El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood Jan. 18-21.

"It was not just a collage" of scenes from Wilson's plays, Dutton said. "It was something I was writing, and my schedule wouldn't allow me time to finish it."

Dutton and Wilson -- A Quick Takes item in Wednesday's Calendar section, about Charles Dutton's cancellation of his tribute to August Wilson, misattributed a comment to Wilson. It was Dutton who said he would probably perform another show at North Hollywood's El Portal in March because "I just love the theater."

Wilson added that he probably will perform another show at El Portal in March because "I just love the theater."
