Iverson Keeps Promise in Comeback Victory

With the Philadelphia 76ers trailing by 19 points late in the third quarter, Allen Iverson made a promise to his teammates during a timeout.

"I promised them that if we got it under 10, we'd win the game," he said.

Iverson kept his word when Andre Iguodala's follow of Chris Webber's missed layup narrowly beat the buzzer, lifting the 76ers over the Minnesota Timberwolves, 86-84, Sunday at Minneapolis.

Iverson scored 39 points for the 76ers, who also limited Minnesota's Kevin Garnett to 13 points.

Denver 89, San Antonio 85 -- Earl Boykins scored nine of his 19 points in the fourth quarter, and the Nuggets held Tim Duncan to one field goal in the second half of a victory at San Antonio.

Detroit 99, Houston 97 -- Chauncey Billups had 24 points, Richard Hamilton had 23, and the Pistons overcame Tracy McGrady's season-high 43 at Auburn Hills, Mich., for their seventh straight win.

Miami 119, Sacramento 99 -- Shaquille O'Neal scored 27 points on 11-for-15 shooting at Miami to help the Heat end a two-game losing streak.

Memphis 93, Washington 82 -- Mike Miller scored a season-high 30 points at Washington to help the Grizzlies end a four-game losing streak.

Dallas 95, Portland 89 -- Jerry Stackhouse scored 29 points, and the visiting Mavericks blew a late 10-point lead before winning in overtime.
