After El Camino Real became the Southland's first roadway, the 19th century rancho system and the area's settlers lent their names to many modern-day cities and streets. As part of a periodic series on the birth of L.A., leading up to the 225th anniversary of the city's founding in September, here's look at some names in our urban landscapes, as viewed in a 1930 map published by the L.A.-based Title Insurance and Trust Co.
