Osment injured in car crash

Actor Haley Joel Osment fractured a rib and hurt his shoulder in a car crash early Thursday, his doctor said.

The 18-year-old actor was in good condition and expected to make a complete recovery, said Dr. Paul Gilbert, an orthopedic surgeon at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena. He said Osment would remain hospitalized at least through today.

Osment, nominated for an Academy Award for "The Sixth Sense," was driving a 1995 Saturn about 1 a.m. when he crashed into a mailbox on a brick base in La Canada Flintridge and the car flipped over, Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Greg Sisneros said.
