Verizon Communications Inc. is canceling its Airfone in-flight phone service on commercial airliners by the end of the year, spokesman Jim Pilcher said.
The decision affects about 1,000 airplanes operated by Continental Airlines Inc., Delta Air Lines Inc., US Airways Group Inc. and UAL Corp.'s United Airlines, he said.
