Criss Angel will receive the magician of the year award at the 38th annual Academy of Magical Arts Awards Show and Banquet, scheduled for April 1 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
Other awards will be handed out in categories such as best close-up magician, best bar magician and best stage magician.
The show is open to the public. Tickets are $145 each and include a cocktail party at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. and the award program at 8 p.m., including performances by such magicians as Chase Curtis, Arthur Trace and Jason Latimer.
