Chief Operating Officer of EBay Plans to Retire

EBay Inc., the San Jose-based Internet auctioneer, said that Chief Operating Officer Maynard Webb would retire in August.

Webb, 50, joined the company as president of its EBay Technologies unit in 1999 and was named chief operating officer in 2002.
