If it helps children survive, buy a rug

May 21, 2006

I am also against child labor ["Don't Buy Rugs Made by Children," Letters, May 7]. However, in certain countries, it is the only way children can survive. Poor people in these countries can barely feed themselves. If children do not work, the parents kick them out and they end up on the streets, begging, stealing, starving and dying.
