As expected, the City Council on Wednesday voted to impose the city's living wage ordinance on hotels near Los Angeles International Airport. The council approved the action last week, but a second vote was required for it to become law.
The living wage requires hotels near the airport to give a majority of their 3,500 workers a raise. The hotels also are required to share banquet tips with workers and retain workers should they change owners.
