Voting early

Los Angeles County voters can cast ballots early for the Nov. 7 election.

* A touch-screen voting station is available at the registrar-recorder/

county clerk's office in Norwalk, 12400 Imperial Highway. It is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., through Nov. 6. It will be open on the weekends of Oct. 28-29, and Nov. 4-5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Beginning Oct. 25, early touch-screen voting also will be available at 16 other locations throughout the county.

* Voters who are visually impaired can use the electronic voting units with the help of audio headsets or large-size text. Electronic ballots are available in English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese.

* Those who haven't registered to vote can do so through Oct. 23. Mail-in forms are available at most county buildings, city halls, fire stations, libraries, motor vehicle offices, public assistance offices and post offices, or by calling the registrar-recorder's office. An online voter registration form is available at

* Those who wish to vote by absentee ballot must submit a written request no later than seven days before election day. The signed application should be sent to the registrar-recorder. An electronic request form is available at
