Actors guild names director

Doug Allen was named national executive director and chief negotiator for the nearly 120,000-member Screen Actors Guild on Saturday.

Allen has been serving as assistant executive director of the National Football League Players Assn.

SAG's national board unanimously approved Allen's hiring at a meeting in Los Angeles.
