September 09, 2006|From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A Garden Grove man who pleaded guilty to murdering a high school wrestler was sentenced Friday to 25 years to life in prison, authorities said.

Superior Court Judge James A. Stotler sentenced Brandan Dante Perry, 22, for the November 2003 slaying of Diego Armando Gonzalez, 17, an El Modena High School wrestling captain. A jury last month convicted Perry's sometime girlfriend and accomplice, Veronica Paz, 24, of the same charge. Perry testified against Paz in exchange for his sentence.
