Party like a rock star
THE decor nearly upstaged the Emmy winners at HBO’s Thai-themed after-party, where gold statuettes were everywhere. But not even an imposing bronzed Buddha in the middle of the Pacific Design Center could detract from beaming trophy-toters Jeremy Piven, Helen Mirren, Katherine Heigl, Sally Field and America Ferrera. The “Sopranos” cast, including James Gandolfini and Jamie-Lynn Sigler, toasted its winning final season, while Piven puffed on a victory cigar. The oft-lauded Mirren exited the party most victorious of all: waving her sky-high silver heels in the air and flip-flopped her way to the valet stand. But Ferrera wasn’t ready to call it a night. The “Ugly Betty” star made a stop at the TV Guide shindig at hot Hollywood club Les Deux, where servers dressed like Marie Antoinette handed out bubbly from their gilded carts. John Legend performed his planned set, but shockers included Teri Hatcher, who hopped onstage with Band From TV, and a sneakers-wearing Kanye West. Across town, it was ’80s night at the Entertainment Tonight/People bash, where Kate Walsh, Vanessa Williams and Debra Messing rocked out to Duran Duran at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. For those truly hungry like the wolf after the three-hour-plus show, there were lots of choices, including a mashed potato stand and mini smoked scallop burgers.
