Love of art, fashion on exhibit at Hammer gala
With Miuccia Prada listed as an honoree at the Hammer Museum’s Gala in the Garden on Oct. 14, devotees 5. TomHanks and Rita Wilson coordinated in the designer’s not-so-basic-black duds, which were also spotted on presenter Cindy Sherman. The artist praised Prada’s support of the arts during her speech, while the ever-quirky 6. John Waters, left, with artist Mike Kelley, gave an equally heartfelt – yet a tad more, um, colorful – tribute to the L.A.-based honoree, whose work hangs in the director’s home. Lauren Hutton, Diane Keaton, k.d. lang and Chair Leonard Nimoy rounded out the crowd of art lovers, who dined on coq au vin in the museum’s courtyard and helped raise more than $1 million for the Hammer’s exhibitions and free public programs.
