Firefighters were trying to contain a raging wildfire on Oahu's North Shore that forced the evacuation of several homes.
The wind-whipped wildfire, which started Sunday, had burned more than 3 square miles and damaged some farm equipment and power lines.
No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged.
At least 20 Honolulu fire companies were being assisted by federal firefighters.
The Red Cross opened a shelter for families forced to evacuate.
