Several nominees earned nominations in more than one category, including:

Philip Seymour Hoffman: best actor in a drama, "The Savages," and best supporting actor, "Charlie Wilson's War."

Clint Eastwood: best original motion picture score and a shared nomination for best song, both for the film "Grace Is Gone."

John C. Reilly: best actor in a comedy or musical, and a shared nomination for best song, both for the film "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story."

Meanwhile, Denzel Washington is nominated for best actor for "American Gangster," and "The Great Debaters," which he directed, is a best drama nominee.
