Titans... 26 Chiefs... 17

December 17, 2007|From the Associated Press

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- In a place that has been a house of horrors for young opposing quarterbacks, Vince Young made himself right at home.

Young passed for 191 yards and two touchdowns, Rob Bironas kicked four field goals and the Tennessee Titans beat the Kansas City Chiefs, 26-17.

The Titans (8-6) kept alive their AFC wild-card hopes and the Chiefs (4-10) lost their seventh consecutive game. Their 2-6 record in Arrowhead Stadium, which was half-empty on a cold afternoon, was their worst in a non-strike year since the 1977 team was 1-6 in a 14-game season.

Young helped add to Kansas City's problems by completing 16 of 26 passes with no interceptions.

Roydell Williams caught four passes for 94 yards, including touchdowns of 16 and 41 yards. Bironas, who came in leading the NFL in field goals, connected from 37, 37, 40 and 25 yards.

Quoteworthy: "I'm surprised there are fans in the stadium. People don't want to be associated with a loser." -- Tony Gonzalez, Chiefs tight end
