The chief of the Rincon Reservation Fire Department was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and child endangerment after the department-owned sport utility vehicle he was driving rolled over on a two-lane road, the California Highway Patrol said Tuesday.
Gerad Rodriguez, 47, who also works as a firefighter for the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, had four of his children in the SUV when the accident occurred Monday morning on a road leading to the reservation in northeast San Diego County, the CHP said. No one was hurt.
Rodriguez, who was booked at the Vista Detention Center, is set to be arraigned Wednesday.
