For the record

Baseball: A front-page article on Oct. 1, 2006 incorrectly reported that in a search warrant affidavit filed in May 2006 in federal court in Phoenix, an investigator alleged that pitcher Jason Grimsley named former teammates Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte, Brian Roberts and Jay Gibbons as players linked to performance-enhancing drugs. In the affidavit, which was unsealed Thursday, Grimsley did not name those players. The article also said Grimsley alleged that Miguel Tejada had used steroids. The only mention of Tejada in the affidavit was as part of a conversation with teammates about baseball's ban of amphetamines. The Times regrets the error, and a clarifying story appears on the front page today.

Descanso tour: Thursday's Home section's Datebook listed an evening tour at Descanso Gardens today. There will be no tour.

Celine Dion: A review in Monday's Calendar section of Celine Dion's final performance of "A New Day" in Las Vegas last Saturday said the concert had been filmed and would be playing in movie theaters that Monday night. The movie event was a performance of "A New Day" recorded prior to Saturday's finale.

Palos Verdes Peninsula: An article about the Palos Verdes Peninsula in Thursday's edition of The Guide said that while visiting Abalone Cove, snacks could be obtained at a produce venue called Annie's Stand. Annie's Stand is no longer in operation.

Contender Countdown: The Contender Countdown item in the Dec. 19 issue of The Envelope said "American Gangster" was excluded from the Broadcast Film Critics award mix. The Ridley Scott film was among that group's best picture nominees.
